What is a Volunteer Coordinator?

Volunteer Coordinators recruit and train community volunteers to be the eyes and ears of our Child in Need of Care court proceedings. Once a CASA Volunteer has been trained and sworn in by the presiding judicial district judge the Volunteer Coordinator then becomes the coach, supporter, and consulter as related to case assignments. Volunteer Coordinators attend court hearings in preparation for appointing a CASA Volunteer to a case, or to simply cheer the CASA Volunteer on when they have to testify. Volunteer Coordinators will evaluate and appoint cases to appropriate volunteers.

While it seems as though our Volunteer Coordinators are in charge of many things, their favorite thing is hearing about the children in which our CASA Volunteers serve through the CASA’s eyes. The CASA Volunteers are the real star of the show!
