I just wanted to get on here and say, it was one heck of a ride.
I cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for all of the support. I could not have survived it without my wife AKA Campaign manager. I also want to say thank you to everyone who put a sign in their yard, wore my hat, knocked on doors, and made phone calls on my behalf.
I learned a lot through this campaign. I pushed myself way beyond my comfort zone, and I grew exponentially because of it. I grew closer to my community, and it helped me become a better person. Losing was a shock to me, we were working hard and did the leg work, but I fear people just didn't get out and vote. It was a close race.
A lot of people have asked, "what now?" Well, I am not going anywhere, I am going to continue to strive to help better our great valley. I am going to do my best to find ways to push my platform beyond just some "ideas" and continue to try to make this a place we can be proud of.
My challenge to you, get involved. Most people I spoke to said, Oh, I don't have time. Well, I believe that a person can make time for what is important. Sacrifice now so that future generations have the opportunities given to us. Weather it is writing a letter, email, or showing up to meetings. Let your voice be heard. It may not seem like your words hold any power, but remember that you must first plant the seed before the tree grows.
I know it is big ask, but there are still some signs out there, if you have one, message me and I will find a way to come get it. If you see one still up, if you can, please take it down. If you cannot get it taken down let me know where it is and I will come get it. Campaign materials are expensive, so to potentially save money in the future I would love to round them up.
Again thank you, to all of you who donated time, money, or wisdom to my campaign.
