Monday, May 11, 2026, from approximately 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, water service will be temporarily shut off on Lakeview Avenue in Tyngsboro, from Palmetto Avenue to Sherbrook Street, including all side streets for a water main upgrade. Customers should prepare for this interruption by storing sufficient water for drinking and household use. Customers in the surrounding areas may experience low water pressure or discolored water. Once the work is complete, you can open an outside faucet and run your cold water until it clears We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these infrastructure improvements.-

ELM STREET WATER SHUT DOWN

The Town of Tyngsboro will be performing drainage work on Elm Street in Tyngsboro on Wednesday, April 15. As part of this project, Dracut Water Supply District will need to relocate a water main. Customers on Elm Street should be prepared to have no water from approximately 8am to 4pm Once water service is restored, customers may notice temporary discoloration of their water. If discoloration occurs, please run your cold water until it clears. We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause and appreciate your patience and cooperation. WATER LEAK REPAIR - ENDICOTT STREET

There is a main leak on Endicott Street, water will be off while the contractor makes a repair. You may experience discolored water once service is restored. If so, run your cold water only through either an outside spigot or in the bathtub until the water clears. If you have any questions, feel free to call the DWSD office at 978-957-0441.

WATER MAIN BREAK - REPAIRED

UPDATE: The water main break is repaired. Field staff are flushing hydrants in the area. Wait approximatly 1 hour until they are done flushing and then if you have discolored water you can run the cold until it clears.

WATER MAIN BREAK - Cherrywood Dr

There is a water main break on Cherrywood Drive. Off of Hildreth St. Our contractor is on the way to make a repair. Water will be turned off while the repair is being made. Once the water is restored, you may experience low pressure or discolored water. Wait until the repair is complete and then run the cold water only in the bath tub until the water clears. Dracut Water Supply District would like to remind residents that with the extremely cold weather expected this weekend, it is important to protect your water pipes and water meters from freezing. Insulate pipes in unheated areas or open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate. If your home is prone to frozen pipes consider opening the faucet to allow a steady thin stream of water to flow to prevent from freezing. For water emergencies please call the office at 978-957-0441 and our answering service will contact the on call personnel.
