REPAIR PROCESS BEGINS TUESDAY
ON DOWNTOWN PARKING STRUCTURE

RAPID CITY, SD—Repairs will begin Tuesday on the downtown parking structure, part of a multi-month renovation project on the parking facility adjacent to Main Street Square.
The renovation project will occur in multiple phases. The project is estimated for completion in late fall. City officials indicate initial preparatory work will begin next Tuesday.
“For the initial phase that begins next week, the public should expect detours within the parking structure that will start on Tuesday and continue through Friday,” said City Operations Management Engineer Rod Johnson. “This initial work will have a minor impact on parking availability.”
Johnson said traffic will be diverted around work areas with traffic control devices. Drivers using the parking structure are advised to reduce speeds and carefully maneuver around the work areas as directed. Workers will be using lift equipment but access will be available to the entire parking structure during this time.
The project includes needed repairs and renovations aimed at improving the structural integrity of the parking structure and improving the ramp’s stairwells
Updates on the project will be provided on the City’s home page under the ‘Top News’ section, at the following link https://www.rcgov.org/news.html
and on the Public Works page.
SECO Construction is the contractor on the project. Questions can be directed to SECO Construction at 605-390-3634.
