Protecting North Carolina families is personal to me. As a mother and legislator, I’ve worked to defend life, strengthen parental rights, and preserve fairness for women and girls. I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the NC Values Coalition and grateful for their support.

Congratulations to the teams at Discover Statesville, Visit Mooresville, and all of the local businesses and hospitality partners who helped make this possible!

Visitors spent $441.37 million in Iredell County in 2025, a 2.8% increase over the previous year — more than double North Carolina’s statewide growth rate.
Tourism also supported 2,564 jobs and generated $30.57 million in state and local tax revenue.

This is a tremendous accomplishment and a great reflection of the work happening across Iredell County.

Thank you to Sheriff Darren Campbell, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety for hosting an important roundtable on the challenges facing law enforcement across our region.

I appreciated the opportunity to join public safety leaders, behavioral health professionals, community partners, and other state officials to discuss practical solutions involving recruitment and retention, mental health, jail operations, and juvenile crime.

Keeping our communities safe requires coordination at every level — and I remain committed to supporting those who serve and protect North Carolina.

ICYMI 🎙️ Last week, I was back on WBT’s Breaking with Brett Jensen to discuss NCDOT’s latest $300 million proposal for expanding the I-77 toll lanes — and the serious questions surrounding its funding, local support, and what happens if the project is delayed or canceled.

The communities in our region deserve transparency, accountability, and a transportation solution that truly serves their needs. Thank you to Brett for having me back on the program.
