We stand firm in our calls to abolish and prosecute ICE. This did not start with the current administration. This is not a glitch of the system, this is the capitalist system working as intended.
STATEMENT:
Masked federal agents have been marauding the streets of Frederick for months in an aggressive, unchecked, and threatening manner. ICE's state-sanctioned terror campaign brutalized responding community members and terrorized residents of Tasker's Chance on the evening of September 4th after 48 hours of relentless harassment.
Community members on the scene witnessed ICE agents run stop signs, drive recklessly through neighborhood streets, assault community members, and purposefully drive onto sidewalks and into private yards in order to threaten peaceful protesters. Meanwhile, the Frederick City Police guarded federal agents as ICE manhandled and beat individuals. Furthermore, FPD officers blocked and prevented filming that could allow agents to be held accountable.
We vehemently condemn this state-sanctioned violence and occupation of Frederick city. This occupation was purely for the purpose of intimidating our community. We call on the Frederick community and local officials to hold the FPD accountable for its unlawful and immoral complicity with ICE actions. Silence is complicity. Inaction is complicity.
