Governor Laura Kelly has signed a proclamation declaring February 10–14, 2025, as Kansas Wildfire Awareness Week. Join the Kansas Division of Emergency Management, Kansas Forest Service, and Kansas Fire Marshal as we share important wildfire safety messages. Together, we can raise awareness and remind all Kansans not to overlook the true cost of wildfires in our state.

Earlier this week, members Dave Hardy, Bruce Berkley and Collin Jones went to the elementary for a fire safety week presentation. We talked about smoke alarms, having 2 exits, a meeting point outside, what we wear and some tools we use. 2 lucky students got to spray a demo water extinguisher and everyone got some goodies. It was great seeing all the kids and answering all of their questions!

Friendly reminder to make sure you completely extinguish your charcoal grill when you’re done. Especially if it’s windy, and you leave it right next to the garage. We’ll know if you don’t.

If your trampoline starts to blow away, please don’t try and save it.
