Watts of Love Equip. Train. Empower. But Watts of Love has a bright idea, and it starts with sustainable solar lighting.

Light is the fastest way out of poverty, providing as much as a 30% increase in income and a better life, according to the United Nations Development Program. Founded in July 2012, Watts of Love began as a grassroots effort to reach the 1.6 billion men, women and children worldwide who live without access to a safe and reliable source of lighting. All too often, their only alternative is burning k

erosene, which depletes their income, poisons their bodies and subjects consumers to horrific burns. In fact, kerosene claims 2 million lives each year-- most of them women and children -- and more women are severely burned in kerosene-related accidents each year than are diagnosed with HIV and Tuberculosis combined, according to the United Nations Foundation. We work closely with our partners to identify the poorest of the poor worldwide and equip them with the solar tools they need to raise themselves out of poverty. Our solar LED lanterns and headlamps do more than just light the night: they provide HOPE to vulnerable people by enhancing their Health, Opportunity, Power & Education.
