APRIL IS EARTH MONTH
Last Friday, 25 trees were planted on Village property near the site of the gateway sign at 75th/Dunham. The planting was a coordinated effort between the Village, Greener Grove and The Morton Arboretum. The trees were provided at no cost by the Chicago Region Trees Initiative, the Arboretum's urban and community forestry program.

Every year, the Downers Grove Fire Department teaches fire safety to third grade students in Downers Grove Grade School District 58.

For the final lesson of the program, students submit a home fire escape plan to be judged by their firefighter instructors. The author of the winning plan receives a coveted engine ride to school, plus breakfast at the station with the firefighters.

Congratulations to Josephine from El Sierra School!
