Save the date! ☀️

Join us for the 2026 NGI Summer Social on June 25 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at The Crawford for an evening of connection, community, and collective impact.

The Next Generation Initiative (NGI) brings together emerging philanthropists to learn, connect, and support critical needs across DuPage County.

This summer, we’re proud to spotlight Parents Alliance Employment Project, which helps people with disabilities prepare for meaningful employment through individualized services and hands-on training. Support from this event will help equip PAEP’s new Learning Lab with adaptive technology and job-readiness tools for neurodiverse job seekers.

Thanks to a generous $2,500 matching challenge from the Edward and Wanda Jordan Family Foundation, every gift can go even further.

The event is free and all are welcome! Register or donate here:

Last week, we were honored to receive the Community Leadership Award from Metropolitan Family Services last week at their 25th Annual DuPage Gala: A Night to Stand Up for Families.

For decades, DuPage Foundation has proudly supported MFSD’s work strengthening families across DuPage County through early childhood education, career placement, and services for survivors of domestic violence. Through our Community Impact grants, the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership with the DuPage County Board, and our Bright & Early DuPage initiative, we’ve awarded more than $2.8 million to support this vital work.

Thank you, MFSD, for this meaningful recognition—and for all you do for our community.

See the power of partnership in action. Through the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership (DCTP), led by the DuPage County Board and DuPage Foundation, more than 230,000 lives have already been impacted. Fueled by ARPA funds, the DCTP has granted more than $10 million to area nonprofits—including Loaves & Fishes Community Services, whose new cargo van allows them to address food insecurity across a much greater portion of DuPage.

Some partnerships don’t just support an organization—they help shape what’s possible for an entire community.

For nearly two decades, Al and Patti Gustafson have helped fuel DuPage Foundation’s growth and impact across DuPage County—from early investments in Bright & Early DuPage to leadership support of our All In DuPage campaign today. Their recent $1 million commitment, paired with a matching challenge, reflects the Gustafsons’ deep belief in the power of long-term community investment.

Their leadership extends far beyond the Foundation. Through Educare West DuPage and the Swifty Foundation, the Gustafsons have helped expand opportunities for children and families and advanced pediatric brain cancer research nationwide.

What stands out most is the way they approach philanthropy: collaboratively, compassionately, and always with an eye toward building a stronger future for others.

We’re celebrating Kelly Fallon-Wilson’s 1-year anniversary at the Foundation!🎉

As our Marketing & Communications Project Coordinator, Kelly has been a thoughtful collaborator, a steady project manager, and a true steward of our brand voice across everything we share.

From leading our content calendar to supporting major projects like our new website and print publications, Kelly has helped bring clarity and consistency to our communications alongside our marketing agency, Maclyn.

“Kelly brings real ownership and care to her work,” said Director of Executive Operations & Planning Kait Miller Balsewicz. “She’s quickly become a trusted partner across our team and plays a key role in keeping our communications clear, consistent, and strong.”

We’re so glad you’re part of the team, Kelly!

Big news for DuPage Foundation—and it’s all about growing our impact.

We’re excited to welcome Natalie Knight as our next Vice President for Advancement. With more than 20 years of fundraising experience, including leadership at The Morton Arboretum, Natalie brings a strong track record of building partnerships that strengthen communities.

We’re also proud to recognize two internal leadership moves:

Michael Trench is stepping into a new role as Senior Philanthropy Officer, continuing his work with donors and their advisors to help achieve their charitable goals and grow our community’s permanent endowment.

An integral member of our team for eight years, Kait Miller Balsewicz has been promoted to Director of Executive Operations & Planning, strengthening alignment and ex*****on across the organization.

These transitions reflect one goal: increasing our capacity to respond, grow, and serve DuPage—together.

For 10 years, Arts DuPage has been helping the arts thrive across DuPage County. 🎨

In a recent interview with Naperville Community Television (NCTV17), Director of Arts DuPage Debbie Venezia reflected on the journey—from the initiative’s launch by DuPage Foundation in 2016 to the vibrant network it is today. Arts DuPage connects residents with local performances, exhibits, and creative experiences while supporting the artists and organizations who bring our communities to life.

A decade later, the mission remains the same: celebrate creativity, strengthen the arts community, and make it easier for everyone to discover the arts close to home.

After decades building commercial projects across the Chicago region, Trustee Emeritus Dan Maguire decided his next project would be even more meaningful: helping strengthen the community he calls home.

Through years of service with DuPage Foundation—including as Board Chair—Dan has seen firsthand how local philanthropy changes lives. Today, he’s helping ensure that work continues for generations by including the Foundation’s Operating Endowment in his estate plans and involving his children in charitable giving through his donor-advised fund.

As Dan puts it, teaching the next generation to give “is a phenomenal way to pass on your legacy.”

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we’re grateful for people like Wendy Hayum-Gross.

A new donor and Community Impact Circle Committee member at DuPage Foundation, Wendy was inspired by our collaborative approach to philanthropy and quickly stepped forward as a volunteer leader. She and her husband Jeff also established a new endowment fund to support the future of DuPage.

“To me, community is a group of like-minded people connected by shared purpose,” Wendy said.
