⚠️Stay safe, Dover! ❄️ High winds, freezing temperatures, and snow can move in fast. Are you and your family prepared?

❄️​Following guidance from the National Weather Service, here are four essential steps to stay ahead of the storm:

​🏠 Prepare Your Home & Vehicle: Insulate your pipes now to prevent freezing and keep your gas tank at least half full. Don't forget a car emergency kit with blankets, a flashlight, and extra water.

🧥 Dress Smart: If you must go outside, wear loose-fitting, lightweight, warm layers. Covering exposed skin is the best way to prevent frostbite.

📱 Stay Informed: Keep your phone charged and monitor local weather apps or a NOAA weather radio for the latest updates. Check in on your neighbors, especially the elderly.

🚗 Avoid Unnecessary Travel: The safest place to be during a winter storm is off the roads. If you have to drive, take it slow and leave plenty of space between vehicles.

Today at approximately 5:30pm Blackwell Street between Randolph Ave. and Mercer St. will be shut down for the Dover Christmas Parade.

The surrounding area will be heavily congested with traffic navigating the shutdown. We ask that any vehicular traffic find alternate routes and avoid the area. Please be patient and cautious of pedestrians In the area watching the parade.
