Our hearts are with the people of Colombia following today’s devastating earthquake.

Here in Dover, this tragedy hits especially close to home. So many members of our community have family, friends, and loved ones in Colombia, including in areas affected by today’s earthquake. We know many of our neighbors are anxiously waiting for news from home.

The Democratic Committee of Dover stands with the victims, their families, the first responders working around the clock, and everyone throughout Colombia confronting the damage and uncertainty left behind.

We echo the words of Team Dover 2026 on yesterday's actions by ICE here in Dover.

And we wait for many of our other local "leaders" to say something, anything, in support of this family and against the horror that was inflicted on them.

Today, a Dover family was ripped apart in an ICE action that has shaken our community.

These are neighbors, business owners, parishioners, and friends - people who have built their lives here and are part of the fabric of this town.

Dover stands with this family, and with every resident who deserves dignity, compassion, and humanity.

In October, Council Member Sandra Wittner cast the lone vote AGAINST the redevelopment plan tied to the proposed 640-unit project on Bassett Highway.

This past Thursday, the Planning Board gave final approval to the largest (not in a good way) redevelopment project in town history.

Elections have consequences, and come January, the consequence for developers will be this: Dover's Town Council will no longer blindly sell our town out to the highest bidder.
