As part of the Central Avenue Urban Core Water Improvements Project, Central Avenue will be reduced to one lane on Monday and Tuesday, June 15 and 16, near Bradley Commons at 577 Central Ave. A city contractor will be excavating in preparation for overnight work on Tuesday, June 16. Save-the-date! The City of Dover will launch its annual fireworks display from Garrison Hill on Thursday, July 2, at dusk, around 9:15 p.m. The rain date is Friday, July 10.

The City of Dover raised the Pride flag in front of City Hall on Wednesday, June 10, during a ceremony led by Mayor Dennis Shanahan, who also read a proclamation recognizing June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

The ceremony was attended by city officials and community members, including City Councilors Bret Carmichael, Richard Robison and April Richer; Committee for Racial Equity and Inclusion members José Feliciano, who read Dover's land acknowledgment, and Maggie Fogarty, who also serves on the School Board; School Board member Elizabeth Goldman; state Rep. Alice Wade; and Zoning Board of Adjustment member Jackson Brown.

The proclamation recognizes Pride Month as a time to reflect on the history and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community and to reaffirm Dover’s commitment to being an inclusive and welcoming community for all.
