Save-the-date! The City of Dover will launch its annual fireworks display from Garrison Hill on Thursday, July 2, at dusk, around 9:15 p.m. The rain date is Friday, July 10.

The City of Dover raised the Pride flag in front of City Hall on Wednesday, June 10, during a ceremony led by Mayor Dennis Shanahan, who also read a proclamation recognizing June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

The ceremony was attended by city officials and community members, including City Councilors Bret Carmichael, Richard Robison and April Richer; Committee for Racial Equity and Inclusion members José Feliciano, who read Dover's land acknowledgment, and Maggie Fogarty, who also serves on the School Board; School Board member Elizabeth Goldman; state Rep. Alice Wade; and Zoning Board of Adjustment member Jackson Brown.

The proclamation recognizes Pride Month as a time to reflect on the history and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community and to reaffirm Dover’s commitment to being an inclusive and welcoming community for all.
