What an incredible and moving event celebrating the “everyday heroes” across our state. Thank you to the New Castle County Paramedics for hosting the 14th Annual New Castle County EMS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor Reunion.

A packed house celebrated the work of first responders like dispatchers to heroic bystanders doing CPR to paramedics giving advanced life support. Honorees also included the individuals who survived out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest, highlighting the critical "Chain of Survival" and the incredible work these teams are doing.

During Pride Month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm the importance of creating environments where everyone feels safe, supported, and connected. Behavioral health includes belonging.

Behavioral health impacts every community in Delaware, and collaboration remains at the center of this work.

We loved getting a chance to celebrate the Behavioral Health Professionals of the Year last night with the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE), Secretary Cindy Marten, Governor Matt Meyer, 2025 BHPOY Jaclyn Durant, and of course the truly impressive group of nominees!
It was inspiring to hear about the work they and their colleagues are doing every day in our schools. Lots of “little” moments turn into a huge impact.
Congratulations to Taylor Richey from Woodbridge School District on being named this year’s winner.

As we continue to uplift Mental Health Awareness Month, the Lt. Governor was proud to deliver this year’s proclamation at The Mental Health Association in Delaware's press conference recognizing the important work of those advancing awareness, early support, and access to care around the state.

Mental health touches every family, every community, and every system. This month, and every month, we remain committed to reducing stigma, strengthening access, and supporting the providers and advocates doing this critical work across our state.

Behavioral health is health—and it must remain central to how we support our fel Delawareans.

This World Maternal Mental Health Day, we are proud to continue advancing conversations around mental health across our state. Through the Maternal Mental Health Working Group, stakeholders from across Delaware are working together to identify gaps in care, elevate community voices, and strengthen support for birthing people and families. We are encouraged by the passage of House Concurrent Resolution 82, which directs the BHC to develop a comprehensive statewide report on perinatal mental health, which will be an important step toward building a healthier and more supportive future for our state💙

It was a pleasure to join leaders from across Delaware’s healthcare and behavioral health communities at the Delaware Healthcare Association's 2nd Annual Members Meeting last week.

As needs continue to grow, so does our responsibility to ensure care is accessible, equitable, and responsive for everyone. That takes strong partnerships across providers, advocates, and policymakers.

We look forward to continuing this work together as we build a stronger, more connected behavioral health system for Delaware.
