Meet the Team: Eddie Clay 💚

We’re excited to introduce Eddie Clay, Peer Recovery Support Specialist at Nichols Center – Helping Families Heal. Eddie draws on his own lived experience to walk alongside individuals and families on their recovery journeys, offering practical support, encouragement, and a powerful reminder that no one has to do this alone.

As a person in long-term recovery, Eddie helps bridge the gap between clinical services and day-to-day life by sharing coping strategies, recovery tools, and real-life wisdom learned through experience. He is gifted at building rapport quickly and creating safe spaces where people feel understood, accepted, and empowered to keep going.

The Nichols Center was honored to be part of this amazing Douglas County community event, connecting with the families and neighbors we’re privileged to serve every day.
Our team spent the day educating families about life-saving resources including Narcan and Naloxone administration, overdose awareness, and prescription medication responsibility. We were thrilled to provide attendees with free t-shirts, medication lockboxes, and educational materials to help keep our community safe and informed.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to our local commissioners and the Douglas County Cultural Arts Center for their wonderful support and partnership. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier, and more informed community.
Events like these remind us why we do what we do—because Douglas County families matter, and prevention saves lives.
