🩸Hey Douglas County, we need your help🩸. Yes, there is a shortage of blood, and we really need you to donate, but we also want you to donate in our county to help us win the "Red Cross Battle of the Badges". Donate blood at the Douglasville Police Department on Tuesday, June 16, between 11 am and 4 pm to help Douglasville Police, Douglas County Fire/EMS Department, and Douglas County Sheriff's Office (Georgia) beat our rivals in the competition, Haralson and Carroll Counties. There is only one location to donate and that is 2083 Fairburn Road at our Community Room. Sign up and donate and you will also receive a t-shirt and $15 e-gift card, plus automatic entry to win one of two $7,500 gift cards.

Lt. Timothy Howes Completes International Professional
Designation Process

Lt. Timothy Howes has successfully completed the process that awards the professional designation of “Fire Officer” (FO). The Commission on Professional Credentialing® (CPC®) met on (February 9, 2026) to confer the designation.

The Designation program is a voluntary program designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate their excellence in seven measured components including experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association membership, community involvement, and technical competence. In addition, all applicants are required to identify a future professional development plan.

The FO designation program uses a comprehensive peer review model to evaluate candidates seeking the credential. The Commission on Professional Credentialing awards the designation only after an individual successfully meets all the organization’s stringent criteria.

Achieving this designation signifies Lt. Timothy Howe’s career commitment to the fire and emergency services.
