Jailer Arrested For Violation Of Oath
On Monday, June 1, 2026, officials with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Criminal Investigation Division, arrested 24 year old Imari Bailey following an extensive investigation into illegal activity within the Coffee County Jail.
Bailey was hired approximately six months ago as a jailer. According to investigators, Bailey smuggled contraband into the jail violating her oath of office and committing multiple felony offenses.

Bailey has been charged with OCGA 42-4-13 Violation of Oath by a Public Officer, OCGA 42-5-18 Providing Contraband to an Inmate, and OCGA 16-10-1 Guard Lines and Jail Violations, more charges may be applied pending the conclusion of the investigation. Each occurrence is a felony offense.

I have made it clear from day one that every employee of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office is given both a path to success and a clear understanding of the consequences that follow misconduct. During orientation, I emphasize to every new hire, “If you violate your oath of office, bring contraband into this jail, or engage in inappropriate relationships with inmates, we will find out and you will be charged and booked into the jail.” state Sheriff Cole.

While it is impossible to know an individual’s true intentions on their first day, the Sheriff’s Office remains committed to operating with honor, integrity, compassion, and professionalism through every safeguard and accountability measure available within the institution. When those standards are violated, decisive action will be taken to protect the integrity of the justice system and maintain the public’s trust. Imari Bailey is presumed innocent until convicted.

Today marked the OFFICIAL launch of “THE CHILL PATROL” 🍦 as Deputy Oakley debuted the program at the City of Douglas’ Annual End of School Bash — and what an incredible first day it was for Coffee County!
Children and families lined up throughout the event to enjoy FREE ice cream served directly from The Chill Patrol, all funded by seized drug money that has now been turned into something POSITIVE for the youth and families of our community! 💵➡️🍦
Throughout the day, kids had the opportunity to meet deputies, police officers, and firefighters in a fun and positive environment while learning about making good choices, staying away from drugs, and building stronger community relationships. 💙👮‍♂️🚔🚒
A huge THANK YOU goes out to the City of Douglas Police Department led by Chief Brannen Pruette and the Douglas Fire Department led by Chief Casey Wright for allowing us to partner with them on this amazing community initiative. We are proud to work alongside agencies that care deeply about investing in the youth and families of Coffee County. 🤝
The Chill Patrol is more than just ice cream — it’s about creating smiles, building trust, and turning something once tied to crime into something that now gives back directly to our community.

Tomorrow, we introduce Coffee County to the CHILL Patrol.

The CHILL Patrol is an ice cream trailer I had built, but it is so much more than an Ice-cream trailer.

It’s about building relationships, showing up for our children and making sure kids see the people behind the badge.

And the best part about it — not a dime of tax payers money was used… it was paid for 100% with seized drug money.

Drug money that came into Coffee County and in turn hurt and destroyed families.

We seized it, and instead of letting it sit somewhere, we decided to invest it in our children. We turned it into something positive for this community.

Every ice-cream we hand out at a ball game, school event, or community day means that money is now working FOR this community instead of against it.

That’s the CHILL Patrol. A Chill way to educate our children while cooling off their day!

The next time a child in Coffee County sees a Sheriff’s Deputy, they’ll smile...

Not because they were told to; but because we showed up for them first.

Join us tomorrow at the Annual End of School Bash with the Douglas Police Department and Douglas Fire Department.

Deputy Oakley and the CHILL Patrol will be handing out FREE ice cream.

Building relationships. One kid at a time.

⚠️ The Coffee County E-911 system is currently experiencing technical difficulties tonight.

At this time, the 911 emergency line IS working properly and emergency calls are still being received as normal.

However, the non-emergency line and the direct line to the Coffee County Jail are currently down.

If you need to contact the jail or reach E-911 for a non-emergency matter, please dial 911 and personnel will assist you.

We are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Congratulations Graduating Seniors!

This is the weekend you’ve been looking forward to since you first walked into school as a little kid in Pre-K.

Years of hard work, long nights, early mornings, ball games, tests, memories, friendships, and life lessons have all led to this moment.

I want each and every one of you to know how proud I am of you.
No matter what path you choose next — college, the workforce, the military, trade school, or chasing a dream you’ve had for years — give it everything you’ve got. Show up.

Work hard. Stay humble. Treat people right. And never forget where you came from.

Success doesn’t come from shortcuts. It comes from doing what you’re supposed to do, when you’re supposed to do it, and doing it the right way.

Coffee County has some good young people coming up, and I believe the future is bright because of you.

Congratulations Class of 2026. Now go make your mark on the world.
