The Douglas Animal Shelter would like to inform the public that all cat surgery appointments for our upcoming Spay & Neuter Clinic on July 2nd have been filled.

We appreciate the overwhelming community response and support for responsible pet ownership. At this time, we are no longer accepting additional cat appointments for this clinic date.

If you were unable to secure a spot, please stay tuned to our page for announcements regarding future clinic dates and availability.

If you are interested in signing up for the upcoming low-cost spay and neuter clinic, please come into the Douglas Animal Shelter to fill out the required paperwork.

Additional information regarding pricing, requirements, and appointment timeslots will be provided during sign-up.

Please keep in mind that slots are limited for both male and female animals, and appointments will fill quickly.

🐾 Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic Coming to Douglas! 🐾

The Douglas Animal Shelter is working to bring a large-scale, low-cost spay and neuter clinic to our community—and we need your help to make it happen!

To support pet owners and promote responsible pet care, the shelter will cover up to 60% of the cost of spay and neuter surgeries for both cats and dogs. This is a great opportunity to access affordable veterinary care while helping reduce pet overpopulation in our area.

✅ Event Details:
• When: First week of July
• Where: Douglas Animal Shelter
• Animals: Cats and dogs welcome
• Requirement: We need a minimum of 30 animals registered to bring this clinic to Douglas
• All dogs must be up to date on vaccines or receive vaccines at the clinic for an additional cost
• Limited slots available for both male and female animals

Spaying and neutering your pets can:
• Help prevent unwanted litters
• Improve your pet’s health and behavior
• Reduce the number of stray and homeless animals in our community

Hepp has been waiting at the Douglas Animal Shelter since last year, and we would love to finally see him find the home he deserves.

He’s a sweet, gentle dog that enjoys attention, going for walks, and being around people. Hepp has a calm personality and is ready for a fresh start with a family that will give him the love and stability he’s been waiting for.

No dog should spend this long in a shelter. Please help us give Hepp a second chance.

Meet Selleck, Crush, and Pootie — three amazing dogs that have been at the Douglas Animal Shelter since last year. They each have their own personalities, but all three share the same thing: they deserve a family of their own.

Selleck is a sweet older guy with a gentle soul.
Crush is full of personality and always ready to see what’s going on.
Pootie is the kind of dog that just wants love and a place to belong.

They’ve watched other dogs leave while they continue waiting behind kennel doors. We would love to finally see them get the second chance they deserve.
