In observance of Memorial Day, the Russell County Economic Development & CVB Office will be closed Monday, May 25. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏! Join Switchgrass each Thursday this summer for a fun and creative art experience for all ages. Toddler and Preschool sessions begin at 11 AM, followed by Social Hour at noon and Quiet Hour at 1 PM. 🎨👩🏼‍🎨

This summer, each participant will receive a scrapbook to use as an art journal throughout the season thanks to a generous donation from the Pete Felten Estate. Participants will add new creations and memories each week, building a keepsake to take home at the end of the summer.

𝐂𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏? 𝙉𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢! Participants are welcome to jump in and start their journal at any point during the summer. Weekly projects include painting, watercolor, weaving, jewelry making, mosaic art, and more.

This hands-on field school gives participants the opportunity to work alongside professional and avocational archeologists on a variety of site types, including a petroglyph carving, possible tipi ring site, historic farmstead, historic schoolhouse, two-story stone structure, and a site tied to WWII Army Air Force history. 𝙉𝙤 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 — 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣!
