is proud to collaborate with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue in advancing Human Trafficking Awareness and Response throughout our community.

This initiative includes a newly developed human trafficking awareness campaign and poster, along with a series of training sessions designed to strengthen the ability of first responders to recognize the signs, respond appropriately, and help identify and protect victims of human trafficking.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, MDCR Director Sherea Green, MDFR Chief Ray Jadallah, and the Office of the State Attorney - Katherine Fernandez Rundle, for their partnership in advancing this initiative.

Together, MDCR and MDFR are demonstrating the power of collaboration in protecting vulnerable individuals, strengthening our response, and helping save lives.

Over the weekend, was honored to take part in the Mystic Force’s 9th Annual Gold Ribbon Parade. Our staff joined law enforcement partners from across South Florida to show support for the children and families battling cancer during . 🎗️

The caravan visited local children’s hospitals, where kids had the opportunity to interact with officers, check out their decorated vehicles, and even spend time with some of their favorite superheroes.

This September, recognizes Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) Awareness Month, helping shine a light on a rare neurological condition that causes increased pressure around the brain.

To raise awareness, Officer Christine Berry shares her story after being diagnosed with IIH, in hopes of helping others recognize the signs.

“Like many people, I had no idea what IIH was or how serious it could be. Many of us dismiss headaches, vision changes, or ringing in the ears as stress or exhaustion. I know I did. What has impacted me most is realizing how many people may be living with these symptoms without knowing what is causing them.”

Her experience has reinforced for her why awareness and early diagnosis are so important.

“If sharing my story helps even one person recognize the symptoms and seek medical attention sooner, then it is worth it. Early diagnosis and treatment can make a significant difference. As we recognize IIH Awareness Month, I hope we can encourage everyone to listen to their bodies.”

We thank Officer Berry for sharing her story and using her voice to help others. By raising awareness, we can help more people recognize IIH and understand the importance of seeking care.

Today, former NFL quarterback and coach Teddy Bridgewater visited our Boot Camp Program to connect with our cadets.

During his visit, Teddy shared his personal story and offered words of encouragement, speaking about the importance of resilience, structure, and making positive choices.
