Weighing in at a whopping 8.10lbs he is well on his way to fitting into the turnout gear we having waiting for him. Please help congratulate the Norris family and DFRS on our newest member.

As we bring our 2nd annual Junior Fire Academy to a close, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of our valued sponsors. Your individual contributions have been instrumental in making this initiative a success, and we are deeply grateful for your support. The donations we received have allowed us to offer a daily lunch, snacks, and hydration, as well as provide participants with a memento of their experience. This year's academy welcomed young people from six counties, each of whom displayed remarkable courage and determination in overcoming obstacles and fears, ultimately emerging more confident and capable of serving their communities. We introduced essential life-saving skills and encouraged leadership development throughout the program. Thank you for placing your trust in us and allowing us to provide your children with a unique and enriching experience. We are already looking forward to next year's event.

The City of Dora and the Dora Fire and Rescue have announced the city will hold a Saturday, July 4, event starting at 6 p.m. at the city park, with fireworks at 9 p.m. Hot dogs, drinks, popcorn and music will also be available.

Day 1 of the 2nd Annual WCFFA Junior Fire Academy is in the books and what a great day it was!

Participants were oriented to our program and issued gear before heading out onto the drill field for demonstrations from the Alabama State Fire Marshall’s office and Walker County E-911, along with taking part in activities such as confined space and forced entry, and learning about the “Jaws of Life” and SCBA’s! The campers also had their first try at our obstacle course, which they will run every day to try and get the fastest times!

We want to thank Green Top BBQ here in Dora for supplying lunch for everyone today!

It is Junior Fire Academy week. We are so excited to be able to host this at our city municipal complex. The play ground and tennis/pickleball courts will be open. Please be mindful of the cones that are placed throughout to rope off working areas. As a city you may see activity such as helicopters etc in conjunction with this event.
