Out of this World Day Camp 2026 🌠
Day 5 🚀
We had so much fun on our final day! We started the day with Flag Ceremony & after that we did our morning exercises led by all of our awesome Junior Counselors! After that a few games of 1 & 20 (a camp favorite), coloring, hula hooping, a pick up game of baseball, & lots of play in the field. We had yummy pizza for lunch & at snack we had homemade cupcakes with sprinkles thanks to Mrs. Mary Anne & Mrs. Penny 🧁 Everybody at camp got t-shirts to commemorate our week together & took group photos 📷

We want to thank Saint Andrew the Apostle Church of Donora for allowing us to use their picnic grounds again this year to host Day Camp, it is wonderful to have the pavilion, concession stand, bathrooms, and field for the campers & staff. Thank you to all who donate throughout the year allowing us to keep costs low for families so that their children can enjoy a week of fun with all of us at MVYATA. Thank you to our VOLUNTEERS of all ages who make this all possible! Your time, effort, and care never go unnoticed 💚

Out of this World Day Camp 2026 🌠
Day 4 🚀
Today was hot, muggy, and sweaty! But we still had fun & kept cool the best we could! Games in the field, temporary tattoos, scavenger hunts, and lots of camp songs under the pavilion. We did activities in a cool outer space workbook & played with scratch pads, too! For snack we served homemade popcorn & apple juice that everybody enjoyed under the shade of the tree! We have said it many times, but the campers this year are just awesome! They follow the rules and all just enjoy playing with each other and being creative. Pizza will be served for lunch Friday but please pack your kiddo a lunch if they don't like pizza. We look forward to seeing everybody for our last day 😁

Day 3 🚀
We had a BLAST today even with the wind & drizzle trying to keep us down! We played kickball, volleyball, red rover, & soccer. For snack we had some delicious snow cones that everybody enjoyed! We made some neat rocket crafts as well & enjoyed coloring what little left of the table clothes there was 🖍️ We have such a great group of kids this year! We can't wait to see you all again tomorrow 😁

Out of this World Day Camp 2026 🌠
Day 2 🚀

Another awesome day for our campers & staff! Everybody remembered our rules from yesterday and did so well cleaning up their toys and garbage all day. We made "stained glass" space sun catchers for our daily craft & started a new coloring table cloth since the first one was so filled up, we have so many creative kids this week! Lots of field play from baseball, to volleyball, hula hooping, and just playing pretend! We are all looking forward to another great day tomorrow, but bring your rain coats just in case!

Out of this World Day Camp 2026 🌠
Day 1 🚀

Campers and volunteers got to know each other by introducing ourselves after Flag ceremony & coloring "All About Me" pages! It was a hot day but that didn't stop the kids from playing games in the field & finding some shade while coloring an awesome space tablecloth! Each group created their own group name & song which they performed before singing traditional camp songs 🎶
We look forward to another wonderful day tomorrow with our awesome campers & staff alike 😁

Camp Watakamini 2025 🔥

FLAG CEREMONIES 🇺🇲
This Memorial Day weekend we want to remember and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by the U.S. military's fallen service members. In honor of these incredibly brave men and women, we want to share some photos of our Flag Ceremonies.
Each morning before breakfast is served, the Color Guard raises our country's flag, and the pledge of allegiance is sung. In the evening before dinner, the flag is lowered and Sunrise Sunset is said. The cabins all take turns as Color Guards and learn how to properly unfold, raise, lower, and fold the flag. All campers and staff stand at attention to pay respect to our flag and Color Guard.
Please remember that this holiday isn't just a long weekend, cookouts, & time to open the pools. Take time to cogitate on the dedication and sacrifices made by our U.S. Troops.
We are forever grateful ❤️🤍💙

Camp Watakamini spots are still available! You can pick up paperwork at the Center during business hours or download it from our website. Please remember, $100 deposit is required to hold your campers spot!
