Yesterday, Mayor Reynolds had the honor of presenting a proclamation recognizing National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4–8, 2026, and Teacher Appreciation Day, May 5, 2026.

Teachers play a vital role in shaping the minds, character, and future of our children. Their dedication, patience, and professionalism strengthen our schools, support our families, and help prepare the next generation of leaders, workers, citizens, and problem-solvers.

Investing in Donalsonville’s Infrastructure 🏗️💧

Today, March 19, 2026, the City of Donalsonville held a Public Hearing regarding our 2026 CDBG funding application. We are pursuing grant funds to overhaul the water infrastructure in the northeast section of our city.

Where will this happen?
The proposed project targets improvements for:

Saddle Club Rd. (portion)
Eastgate Ave.
Dogwood Ave.
Hollywood Blvd.
MLK Jr. Drive (portion)

Why this project matters:

Better Fire Protection: New hydrants and larger mains for increased fire flow.

Increased Reliability: A "looped" system to stabilize pressure and prevent service interruptions.

Maintenance: Easier line flushing to meet modern water quality guidelines.

📢 WE NEED YOUR HELP
To qualify for this funding, we must demonstrate a certified need within these specific neighborhoods. Residents in the affected areas are being asked to complete a household survey. Your participation is vital. Without these surveys, we cannot prove the community's need required to secure this assistance. Please help us bring these improvements to your neighborhood by completing your survey promptly.
