⚠️ Severe Weather Threat Overnight – Stay Alert! ⚠️

A dangerous tornado outbreak is ongoing across the central Gulf Coast states, with multiple strong tornadoes reported. While the worst of the outbreak remains just west of our area, storms do not see lines on a map. Seminole County is still at risk for damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes as storms move through late this evening and into the early morning hours.

Forecast updates suggest:
🌪️ Strong storms may continue eastward into western Georgia overnight.
🌬️ Bow echo line segments could bring damaging wind gusts and embedded tornadoes.
⚡ Tornadoes remain possible, especially in any discrete supercells ahead of the main line.

Because this severe weather is expected while many residents are asleep, we strongly urge everyone to:

✅ Have multiple ways to receive warnings – NOAA Weather Radio, Wireless Emergency Alerts, local news apps, and a trusted weather source.
✅ Enable emergency alerts on your phone – This ensures you wake up if a tornado warning is issued.
✅ Know your safe place – Identify a secure location in your home or workplace where you can take cover quickly.
✅ Charge your devices – Power outages are possible, so make sure your phone and backup batteries are fully charged.
✅ Stay weather aware! Do not ignore warnings, as conditions can change rapidly.

All Seminole County offices will remain closed on Thursday due to weather conditions. We will open at 8 a.m. on Friday. The Transfer Station will have extended hours on Saturday until 5 p.m.
