🎥 Behind the Scenes: WTTW Visits Dolton on Pope Leo’s Birthday
Today, on Pope Leo’s birthday, the Village of Dolton welcomed WTTW’s Geoffrey Baer for a special interview with Mayor Jason House at the historic childhood home of Pope Leo.
During the conversation, Mayor House reflected on the extraordinary moment when a man from Dolton became Pope, the pride it has brought to the community, and the Village’s commitment to preserving and honoring the significance of this historic site.
The interview also explored the growing interest the site has received from visitors near and far. During today’s filming, several passersby stopped to visit the historic site, take photos, and experience the moment for themselves—another reminder of the attention Dolton continues to receive because of this remarkable connection. The interview itself noted visitors traveling from places including Italy, Greece, Australia, Colorado, and the Philippines.
