Iowa County Homelessness Prevention Coalition - Our mission is to provide emergency shelter and supportive services to individuals and families who are at risk or currently homeless, and to advocate for locally driven solutions to end homelessness. Family Promise defines Homelessness as: Homelessness is being without a safe, warm place to sleep, eat, and care for children. Homelessness is living

without the security of familiar people and belongings. The loss of one’s home, the most basic element of stability, is a profound crisis for anyone, but especially for families. Parents endure the heartache of being unable to provide a secure environment for their children. And children, who now make up 25 percent of our nation’s homeless population, are deprived of a fundamental requirement for healthy development—a safe, permanent home. Iowa County Homelessness Prevention Coalition meets the third Wednesday of each month in a conference room of the Health and Human Services Building, 303 West Chapel Street, Dodgeville beginning at noon. https://www.swcap.org/service-homelessness.html
