Drone Photos

Our drone team was in the air today documenting storm damage along Section Line Road, CTH DD, and Mounds Park Road. The images captured extensive impacts, including multiple downed utility poles, power lines on the ground, and significant tree damage in several locations.

As another round of storms approaches the area, we want to recognize the utility crews, highway departments, emergency responders, and public works personnel who continue working long hours under difficult conditions to restore services and clear hazards. Their efforts are making a difference across Iowa County.

Please continue to use caution when traveling. Never approach downed power lines, and be prepared for changing weather conditions as additional storms are forecast for the region. The National Weather Service is monitoring the potential for additional severe weather across parts of the Upper Midwest.

Thank you to everyone working behind the scenes to keep our communities safe. Stay weather aware and give crews plenty of room to work.

Deputies Arrest Driver for Sixth-Offense OWI Following Reckless Driving Complaint

TOWN OF MINERAL POINT, Wis. β€” On June 6, 2026, the Iowa County Sheriff's Office arrested Joan M. Delaney, 58, of Cuba City, following a traffic stop on USH 151 in the Town of Dodgeville.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., Iowa County Dispatch received a report of a silver SUV traveling northbound on USH 151 in the Town of Mineral Point that was reportedly weaving across traffic lanes and crossing the center line. A deputy located the vehicle and observed several traffic violations, including lane deviations, crossing the center line, and nearly striking a guardrail.

After initiating a traffic stop in the Town of Dodgeville, the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Joan M. Delaney, and based on the deputy's investigation Delaney was arrested and referred on the following charges:

β€’ Operating While Intoxicated (5th or 6th Offense), a felony
β€’ Operating While Revoked Due to Alcohol-Related Offenses, a misdemeanor
β€’ Ignition Interlock Device Violation, a misdemeanor

A probation hold was placed following the arrest.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office reminds motorists that impaired driving endangers everyone on Wisconsin roadways. Citizens are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911 when it is safe to do so.

Tonight, many people will go to bed remembering the night that changed Barneveld forever.

In the early morning hours of June 8, 1984, an F5 tornado tore through our village, leaving devastation, heartbreak, and loss in its wake. Families lost loved ones, homes were destroyed, and lives were changed forever. Yet from that tragedy came something that still defines Barneveld today: resilience, determination, and an unwavering sense of community.

This has always been one of my favorite commercials because, even though it was created during the rebuilding effort in 1986, it still describes Barneveld today. The buildings may be different, the generations may have changed, but the spirit remains the same. We are neighbors who show up for one another. We are a community that refuses to quit. We are stronger together than any storm we face.

As we remember those who were lost and those who endured that terrible night, may we also celebrate the strength, courage, and character that continue to make Barneveld such a special place to call home.
