Areas west and south of Macksville (near the Edwards/Stafford County line southward to the Stafford/Pratt County line).

Finally, in Medicine Lodge, especially west and south of town.

At 1015 pm this Tuesday evening, the risk of severe weather ended. Earlier Tuesday evening, two severe thunderstorms crossed portions of southwest and south central Kansas (5pm and 10pm). Hail up to the size of baseballs was reported in a few locations. Did you receive any hail or sustain any damage? We would like to know.

At 10pm the risk for severe weather has ended for Comanche county. A severe thunderstorm continues to move southeast across Barber county. A severe thunderstorm warning for Barber remains in effect until 1015pm.

925 pm Update: Strong to severe thunderstorms will weaken as they move south across Comanche and Barber countries through 11pm. Hail larger than 1.5 inches will still be possible over Barber county, especially over the next hour.

At 7:58 pm, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing baseball-sized hail and strong, damaging winds was moving south across Western Pratt County. This is a dangerous storm. While the threat of tornadoes is minimal, circulations at cloud-level and turbulence from thunderstorm outflow winds may create other observed rotating phenomena; however, these pose little safety risk.
