Yesterday,members of your Dobson Fire Department completed mayday training at Surry Community College. This training is vital to the survival of firefighters in the event of an emergency while operating on a scene.

Last night your Dobson Fire Department put the newest drivers through a small obstacle course. This helped learn about turning radius, truck control, and operating in tight streets.

First day back to school for all areas. Please take a few extra minutes and watch out for all the buses,students, NEW DRIVERS, and everyone else coming into town. Everyone stay safe and have a great first day

At 13:11 we, along with other mutual aid departments were dispatched to Robert Johnson Ln to a reported structure fire. Personnel arrived to find a working fire in a residential structure. Through quick action and coordinated efforts between several different departments, the fire was quickly brought under control.

Thank you to Dobson Fire Department, Pine Ridge Fire Department, Skull Camp Fire Department, Mountain Park Fire Department, and Surry County Fire Marhals Office for their assistance today!
