Embudo Valley Tutoring Association

Embudo Valley Tutoring Association Embudo Valley Tutoring Association provides professional tutoring services free of charge to grade school students in the Embudo Valley of New Mexico.

Embudo Valley Tutoring Association (EVTA,) was created in 2004 to assist students of the very underfunded area of northern Rio Arriba County, New Mexico (including Dixon and Vellarde Elementary Schools) with free dyslexic and subject-based tutoring services provided by our own certified and trained teachers. We work closely with the teachers and administrative staff of the schools we service to pr

ovide the best level of support possible. The Rio Grande Valley in New Mexico is very rural and the state lacks the resources and staff to provide the services to the students in this area. The high school drop out rate is 15%. That is where EVTA is doing all we can to pick up the slack. In 2017 EVTA is adding a seat of operations at Anansi Charter School in El Prado, NM in order to reach greater numbers and diversity of students. We are a 503c non profit organization operating solely from grants from foundations, donations from our community, and the many hours of volunteered time of our staff of teachers. We are a dedicated group that is concerned with aiding this community with these much needed services. If you are living in the Rio Grande Valley and are looking for tutoring services in any subject area, please message us and we will get back to you on how we can help!

Director Eva Behrens participated in the UNM Hive's Charity networking event. We all made creative brochures to represent our organizations. EVTA's is the green trifold to the right of the pic. Love the one from Youth Heartline: eye catching and heart warming!

Dear friends,

I hope everyone is having very merry holidays!

Sending you a gentle reminder to please consider including Embudo Valley Tutoring Association in your end of year giving plans. EVTA supports New Mexico grade school students with FREE tutoring and mentoring services. We work at school sites, on-line, and through community centers. Please see our two newsletters from this year, included in the images, for additional information on our programs and services.

We are still seeking funds specifically to support tutoring at a rural mountain elementary school, Penasco Elementary, and seeking unrestricted funds to support tutoring for Taos County and Rio Arriba County students who would like to receive services at a community center outside of school hours.
