Reading Specialists Council of Suffolk - RSCS The RSCS is a professional council open to present and future educators from K - 12 to college level who are interested in improving literacy instruction.

Chartered and commended for over 50 years of service by the International Reading Association and a member of the New York State Reading Association, the focus of the RSCS is to provide professional development to present and future educators. Our workshops feature nationally-acclaimed professors, consultants, authors, as well as locally prominent educators and librarians. The RSCS is a think tank

regarding contemporary education issues that impact the profession and the community. In addition, our outreach program, "Books for Siblings" provides complimentary books to children at New York's Huntington Hospital. Co- Presidents: Christine Guercio and Lisa Wenz
