As the weekend approaches, strong winds and low humidity are expected throughout the area. Please use caution when working outdoors, especially when cutting tall w**ds and grass. Plan these activities for earlier in the day when temperatures are cooler and winds are typically lighter.

Dry conditions and equipment use can quickly spark a fire, so keep a water source nearby and avoid activities that may create sparks in dry vegetation.

If you are planning an outdoor event, ensure all canopies, tents, and lightweight equipment are properly secured to help prevent them from becoming airborne during wind gusts. Stay weather aware and help keep our community safe this weekend.

Strong winds, low relative humidity and dry grass have all contributed to a red flag warning late Friday night into Monday evening. Avoid dragging chains, cutting dry grass, parking on dry grass and mowing with lawn mowers to prevent wildfires. It only takes 1 spark.
