👔 Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Delaware Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps! 🚑

👨‍👧‍👦 Today, we celebrate the dedicated fathers in our EMS family and throughout our community—those who balance long shifts, family life, and the many challenges of both with strength and heart.

🙏 Thank you for always staying calm under pressure (unless someone touches the thermostat 😄), and for being role models both in the field and at home.

💙 Wishing all dads a safe, joyful, and well-deserved Father’s Day! Your service, love, and sacrifices never go unnoticed!

❤️🚑 We are honored to share that DTVAC has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Silver achievement award!

This recognition highlights our commitment to rapid, evidence-based care for heart attack and stroke patients.

Because this is our first year receiving Mission: Lifeline® EMS recognition, Silver is the highest level achievable this year. We are proud to have reached that level and look forward to continuing our focus on clinical excellence and quality improvement.

Our EMS providers train, prepare, and respond every day to bring high-quality emergency care directly to patients when minutes matter most. In rural Pike County, where the distance to a hospital can be long, the care provided before a patient reaches the emergency department is especially important.

Congratulations to our entire team on this meaningful achievement. Your professionalism and dedication make a difference.

🇺🇸 It’s Flag Day, and today, we honor the Stars and Stripes—the enduring symbol of our nation’s values, history, and resilience.

If you’ve ever noticed the American flag patch on our uniforms, you may have wondered why it’s reversed on the right sleeve. It’s not a mistake—it’s a tribute. The flag appears to fly in the breeze as we move forward, symbolizing courage, duty, and our unwavering commitment to serve.

EMS professionals wear the American flag not just as part of the uniform, but as a reminder of our commitment to serve with honor, integrity, and pride. Whether responding to emergencies at home or standing side by side with other first responders, we carry the flag with us as a symbol of unity and service.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Flag Day! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Today marks the last day of school for local students in the Delaware Valley School District and that means more children will be walking, biking, and playing outside during all hours of the day. As we welcome summer break, we encourage everyone to slow down, stay alert, and help keep our kids safe.

👀 Drivers: - Expect more foot and bike traffic near neighborhoods, parks, playgrounds, and pools. - Obey posted speed limits and stay extra cautious in residential areas. - Stop fully at stop signs and keep an eye out for children who may cross unexpectedly. - Never pass a school bus with flashing red lights, even during the summer season.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents & Guardians: - Remind children to look both ways before crossing the street and to use sidewalks if available. - Make sure bikes, scooters, and skateboard riders are equipped with proper safety gear. - Teach the importance of wearing helmets and being visible to drivers—bright clothing helps! Let’s work together to give our kids the safe and happy summer they deserve.

From all of us at Delaware Township EMS, have a fun, healthy, and safe summer break! 😎🌳

On this Memorial Day, we honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As an EMS agency, we are privileged to serve our community in peace because of the sacrifices made by those who served in times of war. Today is not about celebration—it is a day of remembrance, reflection, and profound gratitude.

To the families of the fallen, we carry their memory with us. We thank them. We remember them. We honor them.

🚗☀️ On Tuesday, DTVAC held our Annual EMS Week Child Safety Seat Check in partnership with the Pike County Sheriff's Office, PA and it was our most successful seat check event ever.

Despite the unseasonably hot weather and a busy Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania, caregivers came out in record numbers to have their child safety seats inspected by Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians. In total, we inspected more car seats than at any single event in our agency’s history.

Thank you to every caregiver who participated, the dedicated CPSTs who helped keep children safer, and Carl Will of McAteer & Will Estates - Keller Williams Real Estate for generously donating lunch for the CPSTs and our on-duty crews.

This event was part of a region-wide car seat inspection campaign led by Emergency Medical Services of Northeast Pennsylvania during National EMS Week.

As an EMS agency recognized at the highest level under Pennsylvania’s Pediatric Voluntary Recognition Program, DTVAC offers car seat inspections by appointment year-round. To schedule an inspection, call DTVAC at (570) 828-2345, ext. 808, or the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at (570) 296-6459.

Thank you for helping make this a record-breaking day for child passenger safety in our community! 🚑👶

⚠️ The holiday weekend is almost here, and we know many of you will be out enjoying the beautiful spots in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DWGNRA), including Childs Park, not just this weekend, but throughout the summer. Just a quick reminder: parking fills up fast, especially on holiday weekends! 🏞️

🅿️ When the parking lot at Child’s Park is full, please note that we do not permit public parking in our lot or in front of our garage doors. There have been instances in the past in which illegally parked vehicles have obstructed EMS personnel and apparatus from responding to emergency incidents. 🚑 We utilize a private towing contractor to tow vehicles that are illegally parked at our EMS station. Additionally, parking along Park Road is prohibited by township ordinance. 🚫

💡 If you arrive and parking is full, we encourage you to check out one of the many other beautiful spots in the DWGNRA. There’s a lot to explore! 🌐 You can find a list of great alternative destinations here: https://www.nps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/placestogo.htm 🌄

🇺🇸 Have a safe and fun holiday weekend! 🌭

🗳️ Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19th, and polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you’re a resident of eastern Pike County with a medical condition and require assistance getting to or from the polls or if you need to borrow a wheelchair, cane, or walker for the day, give us a call at (570) 828-2345 ext. 0 to see if we can help you out!

📫 While vote-by-mail is a helpful option for many, it isn’t accessible or appropriate for everyone. Life happens—mail delays, last-minute changes in health, or the need for in-person assistance are all real. In-person voting on Election Day remains a vital part of our democratic process, and we’re proud to support our neighbors in getting to the polls safely.

🇺🇸 We believe everyone should have the opportunity to cast their vote, and we’re proud to support our community in making that happen!
