Although we haven’t posted any dispatches lately, that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy. The majority of the recent calls have been false alarms or trees on wires.

This past weekend saw 5 dispatches including a tree on wires on fire in the National Recreation Area and a lithium ion battery that self ignited. Thankfully the homeowner noticed it and was able to move it to a safe location until we arrived.

Our crews - your neighbors - were dispatched to an average number of calls for a summer weekend in Delaware Township. Responses included 3 motor vehicle accidents, one house struck by lightning, and one assist EMS with a landing zone.

The operators of the motor vehicles suffered minor to no injuries.

Our crews were dispatched to assist Hemlock Farms with a delivery truck that had struck a sign. Both the driver and passenger escaped with no injuries.

Silver Lake road was closed last night due to a tree taking out the 13,200 volt primary lines between By The Brook Lane and Tower Road. Our crew was on scene until Med Ed verified the lines were de-energized.

Met Ed could not provide an ETA of arrival for repairs.
