CITY OF DIMMITT FACEBOOK USER AGREEMENT

The City of Dimmitt will promote effective communication and maintain a respectful dialogue. In that spirit, the rules set forth for posting comments on Facebook will facilitate a productive and open forum for community discussion. Our moderators use these rules to ensure that posted comments are constructive and suitable for all readers, while respecting a

range of opinions and points of view. Posted comments must comply with the following standards:
• Comments must be civil and may not contain slanderous, libelous, malicious, offensive, obscene, pornographic, sexual, threatening, profane or insulting language, symbol, photo, video or sound, or links to such material.
• References to the personality of individuals or personal attacks will not be permitted.
• Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation is not allowed.
• Advertising, solicitations or promotional announcements not related to the City of Dimmitt are not permitted.
• Comments must be within the scope of the topic under discussion.
• Beyond one’s name, comments cannot include personally identifiable information, such as an address, phone number, social security number or other sensitive information.
• Comments cannot represent a person other than the one posting the comment, unless one has legal authority to do so.
• Comments containing links to other websites or pages must be relevant to the topic.
• Comments cannot serve electoral campaign purposes, for or against any candidate, party or proposition. Political messages will not be published.
• Participants are responsible for what they post. Comments must not breach any law, confidentiality or copyright.
• Comments cannot encourage or promote illegal activity;
• Comments cannot include information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems. If a comment(s) breaks our standards as stated above, the comment(s) is subject to removal from the post. Comments by external parties on the City’s page are not official public testimony concerning any project or program. An opinion expressed on the City’s page is posted for discussion only and is not a substitute for a public hearing. The City of Dimmitt does not necessarily agree with content posted by Facebook Fans or others. Facebook constitutes no binding representation, agreement or an endorsement on the part of the City of Dimmitt. Those who violate Facebook Terms and Conditions will be reported to Facebook and blocked from the City of Dimmitt’s page. This agreement is governed by a separate Privacy Policy and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities as set forth by Facebook. Elected officials are cautioned against participation in private chat or a string of posts that involves a quorum of elected officials discussing public business.

The 2025 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) for the Dimmitt Municipal Water System is now available. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires every community public water system to generate and make available a CCR to their customers by July 1 of every year, which includes information from the previous calendar year. This report, also known as the annual water quality report or drinking water quality report, is available to view at the city website link below and in person at City Hall.

Public Notice:

June water bills have been posted in the portal and should be mailed by the end of the day. We included this notice on the bills last month, but we wanted to share the information again.

In an effort to quickly and efficiently serve our in-person and drive-thru customers, the City of Dimmitt will no longer accept water bill payments over the phone beginning June 1, 2026.

We still offer the following options to pay your water bill:
• In person at City Hall - Cash, Check or Debit/Credit Cards
• Mail - P.O. Box 146 or 200 E. Jones St., Dimmitt, Texas 79027
• Night Drop Box – Located by our drive-thru window
• Bank Draft - Drafted on the 5th of each month
• Online Customer Portal - www.fastgovpay.com/login

If you need help setting up your customer portal account, visit www.cityofdimmitt.org/272/Online-Payments to view a video with step-by-step instructions. Once you’ve set up your account, you can manage notifications, view usage and bills, make a payment, and/or setup autopay with your credit/debit card.

The City of Dimmitt is now offering a new way to make online payments! This includes utility bills, municipal court fines, and permits! The Dimmitt Splash Park, located at 708 Western Circle, was made possible with assistance from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Dimmitt Community Designated Fund held by the Amarillo Area Foundation.
