Please keep our President, Dale Senger, in your Thoughts and Prayers. Last week he fell and broke his hip and tore his rotator cuff. He’s had a rod and pin placed in his hip and is awaiting for a rotator cuff surgery. He’ll be in the hospital for a few days yet. 🙏🏻

National Fire News:
As Friday evening, 65 new fires were reported nationwide, including six new large fires. Firefighters are currently working to contain 78 large fires, with 17,812 firefighters and support personnel assigned to incidents nationwide.

So far in 2026, firefighters have responded to 53,030 wildfires that have burned more than 8.3 million acres across the United States.

Late summer and fall are characterized by extremely dry fuels in many parts of the country, and several geographic areas continue to fight fires that present challenges to containment. Even if temperatures are coming down in your area, maintain heightened awareness of any possible sources of ignition. Ensure your vehicle is in good working order and secure any chains or anything that could drag and spark. Taking a Labor Day camping trip? Commit to practicing excellent campfire and/or barbeque safety. Watch for sparks, embers, and wind, and make sure your fire or grill is cool to the touch before you walk away from it.

On this wet cloudy first Sunday morning and not as hot afternoon of September 2026, Amish buggies are out traveling to and from their Church services. Slow down, be aware of your surroundings and drive cautiously. Remember when you see a buggy not only on Sunday but any day of the week, there are likely to be children riding inside. Let’s keep them safe.

Slow down and allow for extra braking distance when you see a buggy.. Please pay attention to the road. Don’t use your cell phones while driving. Their lives and others depend on it.

Did you know that several Amish are firefighters in Buckingham’s fire departments and some are associate members supporting functions and activities. They’ll come to your EMERGENCY, so why not be an attentive driver and watch for them on the roads.

Be alert for Amish horse and buggy’s this Sunday morning and throughout the afternoon/ evening hours as they’re traveling from services back to their homesteads. Don’t pass until it’s safe to do so with a clear view around them. Preferably a passing zone. Don’t hog or tailgate, rev your engine or blow your horns when passing.

All buggies carry families with children.
