Friends of the Dillon County Library System

The Friends of the Dillon County Library is having a fundraiser to raise money for a new bookmobile. We purchased our current bookmobile in 1998, and it is now starting to have issues. Since the bookmobile is so old it is hard to find parts to repair it. A new bookmobile starts at around 200,000. Any money donated will go toward purchasing a new one. Thank you in advance for all your donations.

You still have 14 days left to turn in recipes for our Friends of the Dillon County Library Cookbook. The deadline is September 1, 2021. If you have not turned it in yet please email or mail it to us.
Please help us make this a success all money raised from selling the cookbooks will go to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

The Dillon County Bookmobile, Children's Services, and Friends of the Dillon County Library will be at the Farmer's Market today from 4pm-7pm. The Theme is Christmas in July so the Friends group will be selling Christmas Ornaments. Small Snowflake ornaments will be $1.00, Larger Ornaments will be $3.00, and Christmas Cards will be $3.00. The Friends group will also have a book sale. All money raised will go to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Please come out and support us. While there you can sign up for Bookmobile Services, Take a tour of the Bookmobile or Talk to our Children's Librarian Tierney Alford about Children's Services at the library.

The Friends of the Dillon County Library would like to do a cookbook. If you would like to send in your favorite recipes you can email them to [email protected], mail them to 600 East Main Street Dillon, SC 29536, or post them to the bottom of this post. When we are done putting the book together we will sell them to raise money for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. We want to make this a wonderful keepsake for our community. Pictures of your favorite food is welcome with the recipe.

The Dillon County Bookmobile will be at the Farmer's Market Monday June, 14, 2021 from 4pm-7pm. Come out and tour the bookmobile, and learn about the many services offered through the bookmobile. We will also have a table located next to the bookmobile promoting our Friends Group. We will have handouts, membership applications, a board showing what the friends group supports at the library, a raffle to be held at the end of the farmer's market, and a small book sale. All proceeds go to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

The Dillon County Library is so excited to announce that we now have a vegetable garden. We will post pictures on the progress of the garden as it grows.
