🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET - SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Today, on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the Dillingham Police Department joins our community and our nation in remembering the 2,977 lives lost on that tragic day.

We honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, military members, dispatchers, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember the families who lost loved ones and the first responders and survivors who continue to carry the effects of that day.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the unity our nation showed in the days that followed.

May we never forget those we lost, those who answered the call, and those who gave everything to help others.

MISSING PERSON – PLEASE SHARE

The Dillingham Police Department is assisting in spreading awareness regarding Logan Petranovich, age 24, who has been reported missing from King Salmon, Alaska.

Logan was last seen on July 24, 2026, in King Salmon. His direction of travel is unknown, and his phone may be out of service.

Anyone who has seen Logan, had contact with him, or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Bristol Bay Borough Police Department at 907-246-4222 and reference Incident #260401.

Please share this post, particularly throughout the Bristol Bay region and surrounding communities.

Do not assume someone else has already reported information, any information could be important.

Remember: a fed bear quickly becomes a problem bear. Keeping garbage and other attractants secured helps protect residents, pets, property, and the bears themselves.

If a bear is creating an immediate public-safety concern or acting aggressively, contact the Dillingham Police Department at 842-5354.

Public Safety Update

Dillingham Police officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle and quickly located it. During an attempted traffic stop, the driver fled and rammed into a Dillingham Police Department patrol vehicle. Officers continued the pursuit until it could no longer be conducted in a safe manner, at which time it was terminated in the interest of public safety. The vehicle was later found disabled, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

No officers or members of the public were injured. Public safety remains our highest priority.

The following charges have been referred for prosecution:

* Failure to Yield at the Direction of a Peace Officer – Class C Felony
* Vehicle Theft – Class C Felony
* Assault in the Third Degree (2 counts) – Class C Felony
* Reckless Driving – Misdemeanor
* Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree – Class A Misdemeanor
* Driving Under the Influence – Class A Misdemeanor

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
