At approximately 1225 hours Dilley Fire Department was dispatched to a tractor and cotton harvester on fire with approximately 1/2 acre of cotton burning. In the area of FM1582 & CR 3401.

Dilley's VFD prompt response and the assistance of the ranch manager, they managed to contain the fire in a timely manner minimizing the damage. The ranch manager was able to extinguish the tractor and cotton harvester prior to arrival and was able to obtain another tractor with discs, to help contain the burning crop.

Stay safe and God Bless!

Citizens of Precinct 4,

This backpack giveaway event has been a huge success, and it’s all because of the incredible support from each and every one of you. Out of 157 backpacks 6 were left; all snacks and juices were given out. The smiles the kids displayed was an amazing feeling to view.

First and foremost, thank you to my family members for their generous donations. A special thanks to my sister-in-law Sofia Longoria for providing the great idea, Tammy Sanchez Frio County WIC Director and Ofelia Trevino Frio County District Clerk who reached out to me and provided donations. Your contributions have directly impacted the lives of so many students and families in our community.

To the parents and families who showed up today I hope these backpacks will help your kids start the school year with confidence and excitement.

Lastly, I want to thank this entire community. When we come together like this, we show what real community looks like β€” united, generous, and full of heart.

Let’s continue to lift each other up, support our youth, and make events like this even bigger and better in the years to come.

Thank you all and God Bless
