Governor Laura Kelly today directed flags throughout the State of Kansas be flown at half-staff from sunup to sundown on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in honor of Ford County firefighter and paramedic William Cory "Liam" Price, who died in the line of duty.

The Flash Flood Warning has been extended until 10:45 PM CDT

Portions of Lane County have been placed in a Flash Flood Warning until 9:00PM CDT. Locations impacted include Dighton and Amy.

If you see water crossing the road, remember to Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

Lane Co Fire crew just left Cimarron to go help out with the fires in Meade Co. Stay safe guys!!! Prayers for all First Responders that have been and that are still are out working to get the fires out.

There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) of severe thunderstorms this evening. The greatest severe weather risk will be damaging wind gusts of 60+ mph. There is a conditional risk of an isolated 75 mph wind gust. There is a smaller risk of large hail, but an isolated 1"+ diameter hail will be possible with the strongest storm.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 pm for southwest, south central and central Kansas. Primary hazards will be strong damaging winds and lightning which may lead to rapid wildfire starts. Isolated quarter size hail will also be possible, mainly east of highway 283.

A strong cold front will race through southwest Kansas early Sunday morning. North winds Sunday will be intense, averaging near 40 mph with gusts of 60-70 mph. Areas of blowing dust and difficult travel can be expected.
