It's the last day of the spring legislative session in Springfield. We're expected to take up a number of bills today, but most notably the state budget. I will continue to fight to make life more affordable for Illinois families.

May we never forget the reason for the Memorial Day holiday, to honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free. We may not know them all, but we owe them all. Be sure to take a moment today to remember our fallen military heroes.

Democrats' green energy fantasies diminished our state's ability to produce enough power. Now, Illinoisans are paying the price. We must support a comprehensive approach to energy to keep power generation online and bring down costs for residents.

As demand for electricity from data centers and other customers continues rising, suburbanites should expect higher ComEd bills starting in June. The rate at which ComEd customers are charged for ener...

We need your immediate action!

HB 5295 is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Executive Committee today, and we have a very narrow window to stop it.

File a witness slip in OPPOSITION now that will apply to the amended version. Click here (https://ilga.gov/Senate/hearings/details/3072/23065/CreateWitnessSlip/?legislationId=167022&GaId=18&View=Create&utm_campaign=campaign&utm_medium=email&utm_source=ctct)

HB 5295, the so-called “Reproductive Health Records Privacy Act,” would require abortion-related procedures, complications, and certain diagnoses to be carved out from broader medical records—creating dangerous information gaps that could prevent physicians from having access to a patient’s full medical history when providing care to women and minor girls.

Supporters of the bill have now introduced an amendment to exempt hospitals—an apparent attempt to neutralize some opposition and clear a path for passage. As a result, the Illinois Hospital Association, which had previously stood in opposition alongside us, has stepped aside.

That makes this fight even more urgent.

While the amendment changes part of the bill, it does not resolve the underlying concerns. This legislation would still create serious risks surrounding continuity of care, patient safety, parental rights, and medical transparency.

Please act immediately!
