On Thursday, 27 March, Commander Tyer (R) had an opportunity to visit Post 49 in Elizabethton. The Commander of Post 49 (L), Paulette Baldwin, took him to meet Mr. Hicks, an 86-year-old Veteran and resident of Elizabethton displaced by Hurricane Helene in September 2024. Mr. Hicks was able to move back into his [restored] home in August of 2025 and Post 115, in partnership with Post 49, provided necessary furshings. (Post 49 - Watauga conducted relief operations from storm damage from October 2024 until late 2025.)

January’s Mobile Food Pantry is coming up soon, and we want our neighbors to have the details they need to plan ahead! Join us on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Sylvia Baptist Church, located at 1415 Old Sylvia Rd, Dickson, TN 37055.

Volunteers are welcome to arrive at 8:00 in the morning to help with setup, and food distribution will begin around 9:30.

Please remember the following guidelines.
• One distribution per household.
• Please clear space in your trunk for volunteers to load your food.
• Remain in your vehicle at all times.
• Follow traffic directions from our team and law enforcement.
• We will serve each car in the order it arrives, and we appreciate your patience as the team works as quickly and safely as possible.

We look forward to serving our neighbors together!
