We are less than a week away from our Fall EMS Continuing Education program. This program will be like none of our previous offerings. Beyond the normal lecture and hands-on portions, we will be presenting an oxygenation/ventilation cadaver lung lab. Join us for this next step in our goal to bring high quality EMS continuing education to local providers!

🚦Heads up, Dickson!🚦

Effective 9/11/2026: The city is implementing a change at the intersection of W. Walnut Street and S. Main Street.

The traffic light will be switched to flashing red lights, and the intersection will operate as a 3-way stop for 90 days. The traffic light will flash red in all directions. Drivers will need to treat the intersection as a three-way stop. After the 90 days, the traffic and safety data will be evaluated to confirm if the traffic light can be removed permanently.

A flashing red light works the same as a three-way stop.

Please be careful and watch for the new traffic signs while everyone gets used to the change. Questions? Call City Hall at 615-441-9508.

Today, the Dickson Fire Department joins our community in mourning the loss of an extraordinary woman, Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s love for Tennessee and her unwavering support for first responders have touched countless lives. Through her generosity, compassion, and dedication to the people of Tennessee, she has always been a shining example of what it means to give back and care for your community.

Her support of the fire service will never be forgotten. Her legacy will continue to inspire us as we serve our community with the same kindness, heart, and selflessness that she showed to so many.

The Dickson Fire Department will deeply miss her. Thank you, Dolly, for everything you did for firefighters, first responders, and the people of Tennessee.

Rest easy, Dolly. ❤️🔥

This is a great thing about the fire service. Departments are constantly sharing useful training tools and ideas. Thank you South Metro Fire Rescue for this tremendous training tool for our crews and public educators! These color coded boards will be used to describe the dangers of heat through the various heights within a room.

Your City of Dickson Fire Department is excited to partner with Nashville State Community College as they begin their EMS program in Dickson. This morning, students began the charter EMT-B course. The department wants to wish Nashville State, and their students, the best as they begin their EMS journeys.
