⚠️ WEATHER UPDATE | GALVESTON COUNTY & DICKINSON ⚠️

The National Weather Service continues to monitor a tropical disturbance in the Gulf that is expected to bring multiple rounds of heavy rainfall to Southeast Texas through Thursday. A Flood Watch remains in effect for Galveston County, and forecasters are warning that flash flooding, street flooding, and rising water in low-lying areas are possible.

Current forecasts indicate an additional 3-7 inches of rain across the region, with isolated locations potentially receiving even higher amounts. A Tropical Storm Watch has also been issued for portions of the Galveston County coast as conditions continue to develop. Residents should be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions, ponding on roadways, and possible flooding of streets, creeks, and drainage areas.

🌧️ Stay weather aware.
🚗 Never drive through flooded roadways.
📱 Keep weather alerts enabled on your phone.
🏠 Review your emergency plans and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.

Remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown.

The City of Dickinson and the Dickinson Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor conditions and share updates as they become available.

DRIVE SAFE, STAY ALIVE 🚗

Heavy rain can quickly turn roadways into dangerous conditions. If you encounter standing water while driving, remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown.

Just a small amount of moving water can cause you to lose control of your vehicle, and it's impossible to know the condition of the roadway beneath the surface.

🚗 Flood Safety Tips:
✔️ Never drive through flooded roadways
✔️ Slow down and use headlights in heavy rain
✔️ Allow extra travel time
✔️ Stay informed of weather and road conditions
✔️ Follow all road closure signs and barricades

Your destination can wait. Your safety cannot.

Stay weather aware, monitor local forecasts, and report hazardous conditions to local authorities when safe to do so.
