***IMMEDIATE RELEASE***

The Dickinson Police Department responded to the 900 block of Meadows Drive at 11:44 PM on September 3 following multiple reports of shots fired. Officers arrived to a chaotic scene and immediately began working to ensure scene safety, locate involved parties, and determine what had occurred.

During the early stages of response, officers located a vehicle traveling away from the area at a high rate of speed. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle, which arrived at the CHI emergency room carrying one 16-year-old juvenile male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Detectives and officers have been actively investigating this incident since the initial calls for service. At the early stages of this investigation, it is believed that two different factions of individuals exchanged gunfire. It is believed these individuals are acquainted with each other, and this was not a random act of violence.

At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators are currently interviewing potential suspects and gathering additional information.

***Additional updates will be provided as they become available.***

🚌 Welcome Back Students!🚌

Summer flew by, and it's back to school this week. We'd like to take this time to remind everyone about school zone safety.

⬇️Slow Down in School Zones: When children are present, please follow the reduced speed limits as displayed in those areas.

🛑Stop for School Buses: One of our pet peeves, and one of the most dangerous! When a bus’s red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended, all traffic must stop in BOTH directions (unless divided by a median).

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️Watch for Pedestrians: Kids may dart across streets unexpectedly. Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.

📲Avoid Distractions: Put away phones and focus on the road, especially in school zones during drop-off and pick-up times.

⌚️Plan for Extra Time: Morning and afternoon traffic can be heavy. Leave early to avoid rushing through school zones.

🚸Drop-off Locations: Most schools have areas designated for IMMEDIATE loading/unloading of children; please find an alternate parking space if you need to go into the office and leave your vehicle unattended. Also, please do not stop in the driving lanes to drop off the kiddos; this backs up the traffic and can be particularly dangerous for them!

Let’s keep safety first as we kick off the school year! Wishing all our students a fantastic year of learning and growth.

We are incredibly proud (once again) of our very own SGT Andy Stidham and CPL Alex Schroeder as they demonstrated incredible grit and athleticism at the 2026 The Tactical Games (TGG) competition in Missoula, MT last month! Not only did they excel, they PLACED THIRD!

The two were subjected to intense physical challenge, followed immediately by a shooting course. These guys are top-notch, and we are very fortunate to have them in our family!

Nicely done fellas!
