Diboll’s Weekly FAQs
We’re excited to continue this project, created to bring clarity to some of the most common questions we receive. While not every answer may be exactly what you were hoping for, our goal is to help you better understand how your City works.
So whether you’re here to learn something new, challenge what you read, or just see what we’ll say next, you’re part of this conversation. And that’s the whole idea.
This Week’s Topic: How the City Operates After Hours and on Holidays
For clarity, all answers below apply to any time City Hall is closed—whether it’s evenings, weekends, holidays, or staff training days.
The Most Common Question We Receive:
“What if someone needs help when City Hall is closed?”
If someone is in danger, call 911 immediately.
Don’t wonder if it’s too late, too early, or a holiday—just call.
If you are not in danger, here are your options:
Water Leak, Low Pressure, or No Water
📞 Call (936) 829-HELP
An on-call employee will respond immediately.
Please do not call a plumber until we’ve inspected the issue and advised you to do so.
Sewer Stoppage or Overflow
📞 Call (936) 829-HELP
An on-call employee will respond immediately.
Again—don’t call a plumber until we’ve checked it out.

Will the City respond during or after an extreme weather event?
Absolutely.
Our Public Works team keeps materials and equipment ready 24/7. When severe weather is forecasted, we stage equipment around town to respond faster.
Flooding, downed trees or power lines, frozen pipes, water outages, sewer issues, iced-over roads - whatever comes, our crews respond immediately, whether it’s business hours or not.

Other Ways to Contact the City After Hours
📧 The City Manager checks email as often as humanly possible:
[email protected]
💬 Facebook messages and posts are not the best way to reach us quickly. Staff monitors the page, but posts may not be seen right away.
Here at the City, we take public service to heart. Business hours will never stand in the way of caring for our community. If you need anything, any time, any day, please reach out.
That’s it for this week’s FAQ!
Be safe out there Diboll!!!
