Myra Kay Brown, age 64, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

A full tribute celebrating Myra’s life and the memories she leaves behind will be shared soon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi 39571.

Visitation will continue on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi 39571, beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.

Meet the two men who have been arrested after stealing several veterans’ memorial plaques from gravesites at Rotten Bayou, Bayou Coco and Standard Sandhill Cemeteries! And please, give a HUGE thank you to Investigator Lee Cox, the Hancock County Sheriff's Department and everyone else involved in catching these two! Unfortunately, although the plaques were recovered, they were destroyed, but hopefully we can work on getting these replaced!

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO FAMILIES WITH LOVED ONES BURIED AT ROTTEN BAYOU AND BAYOU COCO CEMETERY 🚨 If you have a family member buried at the cemetery who was a veteran and had a bronze military plaque or marker, please visit or check on their gravesite as soon as possible to make sure their plaque is still there.

We are saddened to share that several bronze military plaques honoring veterans buried in the cemetery have been stolen. We do not know how many have been stolen, but have confirmed 2 at Rotten Bayou and 1 at Bayou Coco.

These plaques are more than pieces of bronze. They represent the service, sacrifice, and memory of the men and women who proudly served our country. The theft of these memorials is heartbreaking and deeply disrespectful to both our veterans and their families.

We also ask everyone to please share this post so that we can reach as many families as possible. If anyone has information about the missing plaques or has noticed suspicious activity around the cemetery, please contact the appropriate local authorities.

Cleopatra Moran, age 90, went peacfully to her Forever Home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

A woman of deep faith, compassion, and unwavering generosity, Cleopatra devoted her life sharing the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. Her faith was not simply something she professed- it was something she lived each day. As a faithful member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln, she cherished her church family and found great joy in worship, fellowship prayer, and serving those around her.

Cleopatra had a heart that knew no strangers. She loved everyone, and somehow, everyone quickly became "her favorite". She gave freely of herself, her time, her resources, and most importantly, her love. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel valued and cared for. Whether she was visiting with a friend, meeting someone for the first time, or being cared for by a nurse, doctor, or technician she often left them with a hug, a kind word, and a prayer. Her giving heart and genuine love for others were among the greatest gifts she shared throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agnel Moran Sr. and Aline Garriga Moran; and her sisters, Jean Lee, Madeline Moran, Lennette Necaise, Cheryl Thomas, and Phyllis Moran.

Cleopatra is survived by her sisters, Naomi Moran of Lakeshore, Christine Curvin, Tanis Moran, and Jerine (Granval) Ladner; her brother, Agnel (Brenda) Moran II, all of Kiln; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whom she proudly claimed as "her favorite."

Cleopatra was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she began a lifelong career dedicated to education and helping others. She began teaching at Chalmette High School and later retired from Andrew Jackson High School both in Chalmette, LA where she taught physical education and served as a basketball coach. Her desire to learn and serve others never ended. While teaching she earned her PH.D. in Psychology, later using her education and compassion as a counselor in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

An avid sports enthusiast, Cleopatra enjoyed all kinds of sports, whether she was playing, watching, or cheering from the stands. She also loved playing cards and spending time with family and friends. But above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She gave everything she had to the people she loved.

Cleopatra's legacy will not be measured by what she possessed, but by what she gave. She gave love generously, welcomed people warmly, prayed faithfully, and left an impression on countless lives. Her kindness, humor, faith and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm Friday, August 21, 2026 at Annunciation Catholic Church, 5370 Kiln Delisle Road, Kiln Mississippi. A funeral mass will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery/Rotten Bayou Cemetery, 1000 Kapalama Drive, Diamondhead, Mississippi with a reception to follow at Annunciation Parish Hall.

Rex Alan Necaise, Jr., lovingly known as "Moondog," passed away on July 12, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 53. Born on February 4, 1973, Rex was a lifelong resident of “Pistache” Pass Christian, Mississippi, and a proud graduate of Pass Christian High School.

Rex had a deep love for life and found his greatest joy on the water. Whether boating, fishing, or simply enjoying the Mississippi Gulf Coast, he was happiest surrounded by family, friends, and nature. He was also a devoted Rottweiler lover and never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. His easygoing personality, sense of humor, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Butch, aunt Linda Gay, and uncle Lonnie; (maternal grandparents) Everett and Betty Mae Cuevas; (paternal grandmother) Muriel Necaise.

Rex is survived by his parents, Rex and Gloria Necaise; his children, Nikki (Blake) White, Alanna (Ryan) Shaw, Joanie (Norman) Necaise, and Stetson Necaise; his paternal grandfather, Leamon Necaise Sr.; his brothers, Brad Necaise, Joey (Colleen) Necaise, and Josh (Krystle) Necaise; and his cherished grandchildren, Waylen Shaw, Josie Sipe, Brinnley White, and Sadie Sipe.

He is also survived by his nieces, Brailee (Mark), Amaris Necaise, Joslin Necaise, and Ashlinn Necaise, and his nephews, Dawson (Bella), Jaxton Necaise, and Braddex Necaise, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Rex's love for his family, his passion for the outdoors, and the laughter he brought to those around him will leave a lasting legacy. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

He will be greatly missed by his family.

Alfred "Al" Richard Koenenn
Alfred "Al" Richard Koenenn, age 82, of Long Beach, passed away on August 8, 2026.

Al was a loving, hardworking, and generous husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. A lifelong native of the Mississippi coast, an active member of the community, and devoted parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was the only son of Mae and L.A. Koenenn and a cherished brother to his three sisters, whom he loved deeply. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and later obtained his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans. It was there he met his beloved wife of 59 years. For over 50 years, he built a successful career as an attorney, practicing in both Louisiana and Mississippi.

Outside of his profession, Al found great joy in the outdoors. He was a proud fisherman, an avid duck hunter, and enjoyed spending time woodworking in his shop. When he wasn’t working, hunting, or fishing, he could often be found on the golf course. He was rarely without his pouch of Red Man and a glass of scotch on the rocks, preferably prepared by his wife or one of his grandchildren. In recent years, some of his happiest moments were spent in his recliner watching Saints games with a bowl of vanilla ice cream, both of which he shared with his loyal dog, Pollo.

Above all else, Al’s greatest joy was his family. He was an endearingly stubborn man, but one who without a doubt loved his family with abundance. He went out of his way to create joy for his grandchildren; no one could make them laugh quite like he did. The joy he brought into their lives, and the memories he created with them, will be cherished forever.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mae Koenenn; his father, L.A. Koenenn; his daughter-in-law, Stacey Koenenn; and his brother-in-law, Arve Henriksen. He is survived by his wife, Judith Koenenn; his sisters, Anne Meek (Tom), Margaret Papaleo (Dennis), and Emily Henriksen; his sons, Alfred Richard Koenenn Jr., Jason Koenenn (Renee), and Stephen Koenenn (Rebecca); and his grandchildren, Chase Elsworth, Katie Manasco (Drew), Mary Elise Koenenn, Bracey Koenenn, Emily Cade Koenenn, and Reed Koenenn, and countless additional family members and friends.

Laura Mary Ladner, age 100, passed away peacefully, fortified by the sacraments of the Church and surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in a deeply Catholic home, Laura’s life was formed by prayer, discipline, and unwavering faith. From childhood, she was taught to trust in God’s providence, to live with humility, and to place family and faith at the center of life. These values guided her every step and remained the foundation of her character throughout her 100 years. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Laura lived her vocation generously. She raised her family with strong Catholic principles, teaching by example the importance of prayer, hard work, honesty, and love of neighbor. Her home reflected her faith—rooted in tradition, order, and quiet devotion. Laura was a faithful parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she worshiped regularly and remained steadfast in prayer. Her trust in God never wavered, and she found strength in the Holy Eucharist, the Rosary, and a life lived in service to others.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert “Dennis” Ladner; her son, Larry C. Ladner; and her cherished grandchildren, Davey Ladner and Alecia Latimer Dennison.

She is survived by her son, Douglas (Lisa) Ladner; Linda Hickman the daughter she never had, her grandchildren Shannon (Art) Latimer, Brian (Chasity) Ladner, Kendall (Lana) Ladner, Sonia (Sam) Ladner, Robin Fine, Wendy Bradford, Brandi (Chad) Bryant, and James (Sara) Murray; her great-grandchildren Torie Foutch, Ashley (Josh) Stuebe, Aaron (Alexis) Latimer, Caleb Ladner, Kameron Ladner, Shaylee Castillo, Jenna and Kennedy Ladner, Mattie and Kaylynn, Cheyenne (DJ) Woodcock, Dakota Scarborough, Kylie and Jadalyn Fine, Preston, Jenny and Laurel Bradford, McKenna and Pacer Bryant, and Keagan and Dylan Murray; and 14 beloved great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews who were a source of great joy and gratitude in her later years.

Sacred Scripture was reflected in her life, especially the words: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 And with confidence in God’s mercy, we commend her with the promise: “Whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.” — John 11:25

Laura Mary Ladner leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and perseverance that will endure through generations. May she hear the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:21

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 12 - 2 pm at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln DeLisle Rd, Pass Christian. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm in the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery @ Rotten Bayou. The family would like to thank Ethel Ladner and Amber Weise for all the time and love you shared with her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life.

The family humbly requests prayers for the repose of her soul: Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
