It has been awhile since we have last posted anything, so I thought I would come on here and brag up this department a little more. As you know, in today's world getting someone to volunteer is nearly impossible, as I was doing some report catch up today, I came across a little statistic that kind of blew my mind. We are a small town, with a giant heart. This department is 100% volunteers, all with full time jobs, all with family's and busy lives, and the dedication put forth is second to none.
We have had no less than eight volunteer firefighters (avg. of 11 per call) show up on a single call this year, in bigger towns with bigger numbers that might not be something to brag about, but you should all feel very fortunate to have that kind of turn out in a town this size.
When the tones drop, everyone (wives included)will not hesitate—they leave whatever they’re doing and show up ready to help. An average of 11 volunteers on one call says a lot about the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of our department and our community.
Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. This is what volunteer fire service is all about. 🚒💪
Thank you to the community and employers for all your support.
