We know Mother Nature has been keeping us on our toes today, but we’re not giving up! 💪

Our food vendors have already prepared delicious food, our band is packed up and ready to play, and we don’t want all that hard work — or the music — to go to waste! ❤️

The rain is expected to move out, so we’re going to SUPPORT OUR VENDORS, SUPPORT OUR BAND, AND KEEP THE MUSIC GOING! 🎸🙌

PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, AND TRANSIENT MERCHANTS - UPDATE (9/15/26)
Acquisitions Inc. has been hired by Kinetic for sales and they have been approved to solicit door-to-door in DeWitt within the permitted hours - 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Each solicitor is required to carry their individual City License and should it be available upon request. The City's code regulating solicitors can be found at the link below.

UPDATE
DOWNTOWN 6th AVENUE CONCRETE PATCHING
Starting Monday, September 14, work will begin north of 9th Street, with the northbound lane of 6th Avenue closed between 9th and 10th Street.

Starting Tuesday, September 8, the City of DeWitt Public Works will begin a concrete patching project on 6th Avenue in Downtown DeWitt. DeWitt Public Works plans to repair spalling and separating joints with a quick-setting concrete – small sections of concrete will have to be removed and replaced. The plan is to do the repairs 1 block at a time to minimize closures. To do this work, one lane of traffic, a block at a time, will be closed for approximately 6-8 days to make the repairs and let the concrete cure. The actual time per block will depend on the number of repairs and the weather. While one lane of traffic is closed in one direction, there will be a temporary detour in place for that lane. The other lane of traffic will be open for traffic and for parking. The detour will move block by block as work progresses. It is estimated that the entire project will take 4-6 weeks to complete. The project will start at 7th Street on Tuesday, September 8, with the northbound lane of traffic closed on 6th Avenue from 7th Street to 8th Street. As the project moves through Downtown, updates will be posted on the City’s page.

On September 11, 2001, 343 firefighters answered their final alarm.

They didn’t know how the story would end. They only knew people needed them.

Twenty five years later, the fire service still carries their sacrifice with us.

Today, we remember the 343. We remember all 2,977 lives lost. We remember them all.

Never forget. 9.11.01 🇺🇸
