Approximately 11 AM today Dewey Fire was requested by Nowata Fire Dept. for mutual aid on multiple different grassfires with structures threatened along Hwy 10 just west of Hwy 169. Dewey Brush 2 & 3 responded with 4 personnel, While we had other firefighters on standby at the station if needed for other incidents. We were on scene for 2.5 hours before returning back to our district. Mutual aid played a big part in containing these fires today with multiple different agencies from around the area. Always a pleasure working together with our neighbors.

Just before 4pm today Dewey Fire and WCF was requested by Copan Fire Department for mutual aid on a grassfire threatening structures in Copan. Great teamwork between all agencies brought the fire under control without any damage other then a few hay bales lost. Mutual aid plays a big role in our small communities and we are grateful for the relationships we have! Washington County Fire Department

Approximately 11:30 PM last night Dewey Fire was dispatched to a working structure fire. First arriving crews found a 30x30 shop fully involved. Command requested Copan Fire Department & Washington County Fire Department for water supply due to the area. Also Bartlesville Ambulance Service on scene for standby. Engine 4 crew made an aggressive fire attack pulling two pre connects to knock down the blaze. E3 established water supply to E4 while being fed by tankers on scene. Crews were on scene for approx 2 hours before returning to the station for clean up. Thank you to our mutual aid partners!

Days not over yet! 7:45pm this evening Dewey Fire was dispatched to another grass fire! Crews made quick work to control and extinguish the fire and had it wrapped up in 30 minutes.

Shortly after 1pm today Dewey Fire was dispatched to a grass fire in the area of 1300rd & 3960rd. We responded with 3 brush trucks, tanker, Engine 1 & command 1. On arrival command reported approximately 5 acres on fire and a large trash pit. Command then requested Washington County Fire Department for mutual aid with water supply. Crews spent roughly a hour & half on scene before returning to service. Thank you to our mutual aid neighbors!

08/09/2026

Around 1:30am this morning Dewey Fire was dispatched to a camper on fire. Command 1, Engine 4 , Engine 3 & Brush 3 arrived on scene to find a camper fully involved that was spreading into the field next to it and also close to another camper on site. E4 Firefighters pulled a pre connect and went to work containing the blaze. Due to the area command requested Washington County Fire Department for a tanker for extra water supply. Crews performed mop up & all units returned to service by 3am.

Alittle after 4pm today Dewey Fire was dispatched to a grassfire in the area of 1500rd & 4010rd. DFD responded with 3 brush trucks & an Engine. Due to the fire being in thick vegetation & limited access, Command requested Washington County Fire Department & Copan Fire Department for mutual aid. Crews spent alittle over 2hrs on scene before returning to service. Big thank you to our mutual aid partners for working in 100 degree temps today with us. We are getting very dry with going on over 30 days without measurable rain so please be extra cautious!
